Light
When indoors, these plants prefer bright, indirect light. In their natural habitat, they grow beneath the canopy of trees, so when outdoors a partially sunny area is best. Keep them away from direct sunlight, the leaves are susceptible to sunburn.
A location with morning sun and afternoon shade will keep it happiest.
Water
Alocasias prefer to dry out a bit between waterings, but require high humidity to thrive. While indoors, mist your plant daily and allow the top 3 inches to become dry before watering again. Do not overwater, or allow to sit in water.
When outdoors, water your alocasia often. Keep the soil evenly moist if possible.
Fertilizer
When outdoors, fertilize every 2 weeks during the Summer months with a liquid all-purpose fertilizer. Indoor plants should be fertilized every 2 months.
