About English Gardens
2015 IGC Retailer of the Year
As an Independent Garden Center, English Gardens is proud to be honored with the 2015 IGC Retailer of the Year award. English Gardens shareholders received the award during the 9th annual IGC Show at Navy Pier in Chicago on August 19, 2015.
The IGC (Independent Garden Center) Retailer of the Year Award is presented annually to a garden center demonstrating notable leadership and innovation. The award was established in memory of Dick Morey, founder of IGC Magazine and an advocate for the independent sector.
English Gardens opened its doors in 1954 with a single store in Dearborn Heights. Today, 10 second-generation owners oversee the day-to-day operations of six retail stores and a full-service, award-winning landscape design and installation company.
The family-owned business ranks among the top nursery business retailers in the nation and is consistently voted THE BEST by readers of The Detroit News.
